Mid-Cheshire Rail Replacement Bus Plans ….

Happily at present we only see rail replacement buses planned for late evenings every 6th week. Not at all would be even better, but it appears Network Rail have a contractual right to demand these.

The Government has just approved £121m for two more Metrolink extensions.
The proposed 4.5km Chorlton to East Didsbury extension, on a former railway line, will include five new stops connecting Chorlton with Withington, West Didsbury, Burton Road Didsbury Village and East Didsbury.

Arthur Sancto 1944 – 2009
Arthur, our MCRUA Secretary, was born in Swindon, Wiltshire, where his father worked as an armature winder for the Great Western Railway. He developed an early interest in the railways and was a keen train-spotter.
