Our Mid Cheshire Line Stations ….

Posted on December 3rd, 2009, by The Chairman

Our new(-ish) Community Rail Officer, Sally Buttifant joined our new(-ish) Northern Rail Stations Manager, Chris Ingham today visiting all the stations on the line between Mouldsworth and Navigation Road.

Chris has made a list of potential improvements, as well as updating the snagging list for action by the various parties responsible.

If you know of items that need fixing or that you think would be good for your local station on the line, please send us a comment, or email me at john.oates@mcrua.org.uk

Meanwhile, if you’ve not filled in the Network Rail Action Stations questionnaire, see the “News” scroll dated 13 November, then please do. In your “normal journey” you need to select the two stations you want to make comments about. The more people that provide feedback from our stations, the more likely we’ll see action from Network Rail for these. For example, why don’t Cuddington, Greenbank, Northwich or Knutsford have train information screens? They’re much busier than many stations that do.

  1. John Hulme Says:

    Good Morning, John

I was fortunate to meet both Sally and Chris at Greenbank Station yesterday. Can I first say what a great job they are doing.

At Greenbank, they are trying to sort out the litter problems.

With one of the largest Campuses in the county being next to station, litter is a problem.

It should be pointed out that the litter bins are being used by most passengers, but it looks like we have foxes or dogs attacking the bags.

I am sure they will find a solution.

Well done on the planters. I also understand, plans are in the pipeline for “Church Friends Group” to tidy up the Chester Platform early next year – with some funding and plants courtesy of Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Great Partnership working. Northern Rail, the Mid-Cheshire Community Rail Partnership, Cheshire West and Chester, MCRUA and the Local Community.
