We hear a number of our services are to be strengthened to 4-car units on Sunday 20 December.

These are:

Towards Chester

1121 from Manchester Piccadilly
1321 from Manchester Piccadilly
1522 from Manchester Piccadilly.

- all the above come from Southport and leave from platform 13, as do the later trains. Give yourselves enough time to get there from the main station!

Towards Manchester (and then Southport)

1307 from Chester
1507 from Chester
1707 from Chester

Despite only running every 2 hours, our Sunday trains are often very busy even though they’re normally the larger Sprinter or Super Sprinter 2-car units. It might be worth aiming your shopping trips for the trains above if you can.

Sunday 27 December

From lunchtime, engineering work at Levenshulme means trains on our line will only run between Chester and Stockport and vice versa, with connections at Stockport to/from Piccadilly.
