You may be interested to see that the on-line advertising for Club 55 specifically says the Northern add-on can be used from Knutsford.

It is mentioned at http://www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/Club55_addonfares.aspx

It also mentions Chelford. Certainly not Greater Manchester. Unless of course you live in Cardiff!

The ticket clerk at Shrewsbury didn’t tell me that when he suggested selling me a Club 55 Return from Shrewsbury to Mobberley, rather than the Single I’d requested. I used it to go Shrewsbury-Chester-Mobberley.

The upsetting thing was he obviously thought I was over 55 (I am, but like to think I’m not!)

p.s. someone should tell ATW that Ashley, Mobberley and Knutsford are not in Greater Manchester. Or perhaps not, this way I can still use it!

The £15 is reduced to £13 if you have a Senior or Disabled Railcard (Disabled still have to be over 55), but the conditions say the Northern add on is only available within Greater Manchester – http://www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/club55_tc.aspx
