Cheshire Day Ranger – prices held ….
Posted on January 23rd, 2010, by The Vice Chairman
It’s good news that the Cheshire Day Ranger prices for 2010 have been held at £18 for an adult and £9 for a child. Even cheaper with a railcard!
I used the Day Ranger last year and had a great time. Northwich, Stockport, Manchester, Liverpool, Crewe, Chester, Warrington, Liverpool, Merseyrail, Hooton, Chester and back down the Mid Cheshire Line.
Has anyone else used the Cheshire Day Ranger …. and if so, where did you get to?

I used one last year. I think I got value for money! My route was:
Wilmslow – Crewe
Crewe – Lime St
Lime St – Piccadilly via Chat Moss route
Piccadilly – Chester via Frodsham
Chester – Crewe
Crewe – Stoke
Stoke – Manchester Piccadilly
Piccadilly – Lime St via Birchwood route
Lime St – Chester
Chester – Stockport via Mid Cheshire Line
Stockport – Wilmslow
I started at 08:40 from Wilmslow and finished about 18:30!
I must be mad! Seriously, I did cover a lot of lines I hadn’t travelled before.

By the way, have you tried to get Cheshire Day Ranger details from the National Rail website?
It takes ages to load, doesn’t show the map and has no fare information!

Hi, Vince!
Thanks for your comments.
I tried the National Rail Web site and you’re right, it’s dreadful!
I’ve reported this to Northern, who have already come back to me thanking me (you), stating their Marketing Team will be looking to get this fixed.

Hi Vince,
The Northern Rail website has all the information about the Cheshire Day Ranger and all our other Day Rangers and Rovers. You can also download the leaflets.
Great to see how much use you have made from the Cheshire Day Ranger.
Happy travelling!
