Mouldsworth shelter comes to life! ….

Posted on May 23rd, 2010, by The Chairman

We’ve had an aspiration for years for the shelter on the Manchester-bound platform to have the nasty dark green-painted fibreboard removed from the windows and the windows reinstated.

Yesterday the work started (pictures taken from a Chester-bound train) ….

Mouldsworth window frames exposed

Please let us know if you know how many years ago they were boarded over.

Perspex at the ready

Many thanks to Northern Rail for listening to our request and paying for the improvements.

And here’s the completed shelter as seen from a passing train on 5 June.

Task completed!

Much better, with plenty of natural daylight in the shelter.

Many thanks again from all the station users to Northern Rail.

  1. The Chairman Says:

The shelter’s completed. I’ve updated the post with a picture I took yesterday from a morning train to Chester. Looks good!
