Music train proves very popular ….
Last night was our best ever ‘ordinary’ Music Train attendance.
We have only exceeded this number once or twice before and on those occasions it was because most people came from a single group. We counted 79 people, plus band on the train – about 50 seated in the music carriage, 15 standing there and 14 in the other carriage. At the pub there were 4 Weavils (the band from the June Music Train) and 3 Sale Folk Club members who had come direct, as well as quite a few others who had also come direct.
One notable feature was that people had come through a variety of networks and through seeing our website and station publicity and receiving our emails. Two larger groups of 10-12 people had told us in advance that they were coming.
People now seem to be aware of it being a monthly Chester to Plumley programme, with extras in the Altrincham to Chester direction.
Overall, we’ve had plenty of positive feedback, including from the band.
Plus. Even the driver was one of our members (on duty)!
Well done to everyone concerned!

Even with a 142 it was a briiliant evening out – the continous welded rail appears to be in the Manchester direction as going back we had several lurches worthy of Potters Bar ! It could just be the unit !
Congratulations from the 6 of us who came – including four who had never heard of it, had never been on the Mid Cheshire line before and are keen to come again and also explore the line. A very good PR project.
Well done to all involved.

Many thanks for your comments – Uther Pendragon.
The next Music Train is on Wednesday 25th August when we have Acoustak, the Chester-based trio, playing and singing on the Music Train and at the Golden Pheasant pub at Plumley.
The details are on our website at http://www.mcrua.org.uk
Hope to see you and many more of our regulars there!
