Well done to the Greenbank Big Tidy up Team!
A number of people have enquired what was going on at Greenbank Railway Station last Thursday, 29th July 2010, when over a dozen people were seen with big green bags tidying up the station.
It was a Big Tidy Up Day, which Sally Buttifant, the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership Officer, had arranged with BTCV volunteers and Christ Church – which is the church based at Greenbank Railway Station.
As well as picking up litter, the team also prepared the flower bed for an Autumn planting session.
Well done and thanks to all those that turned up – making a positive contribution both to the station and the local environment.
The Big Tidy Up is a Keep Britain Tidy Campaign and is England’s biggest ever litter pick. Up to date they have picked up 87,345 bags of litter.
This is one of the many projects MCRUA and the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership have partnered to make the Mid Cheshire Line a more hospitable line to travel on.
