Plumley’s villagers get stuck in ….
Sally, our Community Rail Officer writes ….
On Thursday 5 April we undertook a Plumley Parish Council, Village, CRP station clean up ….. at least 7 volunteers from the Parish Council and the Village turned out and worked really hard – pruning, weeding, cutting back and preparing old and new beds for planting.
We were very lucky in that the sun shone on us while we worked …. I worked with volunteers John and John on the Chester platform and we were then joined by Kath and Barry.
On the Manchester platform Chris from Northern, Tony from the Parish Council and his neighbour Keith installed a water butt and prepared the ground for a new bed assisted by farmer James and his tractor and trailer and a young lady from the village – Beth.
Everyone worked really hard together and the station looks a lot better. There is more work to do. Tony has started a plant fund behind the counter at the Plantation Garden Centre – villagers and anyone who is interested is asked to sponsor a plant or three and leave a donation towards the work.
Watch this space for Plumley Station in Bloom!
