Parliamentary Train & Frodsham station event ….
Details provided by Cedric Green, Secretary of our friends, the North Chershire Rail Users Group (NCRUG) ….
We are pleased to confirm that the above event will take place on Saturday 21 July 2012. It will follow the same format as the previous two years except that there is the opportunity, for those who wish, to visit the newly renovated Frodsham station house as well. Those who do not take the Parliamentary Train to Liverpool South Parkway can still visit Frodsham station between 10.30 and 12.30 on the 21 July.
This is a ‘turn-up and go’ event. You buy your ticket at Chester station or on the train on the day of travel. However, if you require a reservation on the vintage bus please email your name to either Janet Briggs (pandjbriggs(at)btinternet.com) or John Hobbs (johnhobb(at)aol.com) indicating if you are visiting Frodsham station and would like later onward travel, by vintage bus, to Helsby or Chester. This information will enable us to
arrange whether, or not, to bring the vintage bus back from Chester to Frodsham to pick up passengers approximately 2 hours later. If there is not sufficient demand for the later visit to Frodsham then the vintage bus will return directly to its home base after dropping its passengers at Chester station.
We extend a warm welcome to all, including family and friends, and look forward to seeing you, on the day.
We attach a summary and poster giving full details.
Regards Cedric Green,
Secretary NCRUG

It was a great (if rather early!) run with over 80 coming along.
I’ve added some pictures to the post above kindly suppled by George Jones of Wrexham (and Llangollen Railway fame).
Then it was tea and bacon butties at LSP before moving on, many going back to Frodsham, Helsby and Chester on the vintage Crosville bus. NCRUG supplied an “overflow bus” as it had become apparent a couple of days beforehand that numbers would be too much for the single decker provided.
Most got off at Frodsham going to see the specially-opened refurbished station house there – very nicely done.
Well done to NCRUG, Northern Rail, Network Rail and Merseytravel for orgainsing this excellent event. Chester to Liverpool South Parkway in only 37 minutes which could be bettered without the speed restrictions on the Curve. We want it!!
