HS2 plans strengthen case for reopening of Middlewick link ….

Posted on February 4th, 2013, by The Chairman

With the announcement that it is intended HS2 will call at Crewe, this considerably strengthens the case for reopening the Middlewich link. This would make it easier for those in places like Knutsford, Northwich and Middlewich to get to an HS2 station and to get there by public transport, the public transport alternative to Manchester [...]

More Middlewich line diversions ….

Posted on January 15th, 2011, by The Chairman

There were lots of Voyagers thundering through Cuddington last Sunday. We checked the NRES web site and it looks as though Virgin will be diverting via Middlewich every Sunday until 13 February. The timetable gives them an hour from Chester to Crewe. Arriva are running buses, presumably because there is insufficient capacity on the single [...]

Tram/Train to cure our poorer timetable since December 2008? ….
