Chester Zoo’s Free Shuttle Bus back for 2010 ….

Chester Zoo’s free shuttle bus Tiger has made a “roaring” return to the city for 2010!
The service is free of charge for all Zoo visitors who have travelled by train to Chester and runs daily until 12 September.

Steam train traversing Mid-Cheshire Line ….

The Railway Touring Company is running a steam special from Cleethorpes to Chester and back via Stockport-Altrincham-Northwich on Saturday 12th June hauled by LMS Black 5 4-6-0 44871.

We are pleased to see Cheshire East Council is this year sponsoring a free bus service from Knutsford, Northwich & Hartford stations to the Cheshire Show. Some of the connections at Knutsford are good.

Eco offer for Chester Food & Drink Festival ….

Chester Food, Drink and Lifestyle Festival from 3-5 April is apparently the first UK festival to launch an ‘eco-ticket’.
£2 will be refunded on proof of travelling to the festival by public transport – either bus or train or if you ride your bike.

Big Scholar Season Ticket Savings ….

Northern reintroduced scholar discounts on the line last September for those attending Knutsford High School. These provide discounts of £100s a term.
This offer has been so successful, Northern have decided to extend it to all scholars travelling on the line. This will definitely come in next September, though could well come in earlier.
