Chester Food, Drink and Lifestyle Festival from 3-5 April is apparently the first UK festival to launch an ‘eco-ticket’. £2 will be refunded on proof of travelling to the festival by public transport – either bus or train or if you ride your bike. For more details, click here.

Northern reintroduced scholar discounts on the line last September for those attending Knutsford High School. These provide discounts of £100s a term. It’s good news that the Cheshire Day Ranger prices for 2010 have been held at £18 for an adult and £9 for a child. Even cheaper with a railcard! I used the Day Ranger last year and had a great time.
