MID CHESHIRE RAIL USERS ASSOCIATION
|
The Middlewich Rail Link Campaign (MRLC) has the goal to reopen Middlewich railway station and bring passenger train services back to the town. Middlewich is the largest town in Cheshire without a station. Half the working population is employed outside the town and their only means of getting there is by car, adding to the huge problems of traffic. Reopening of the station is therefore vital to the economy of the town. Already much valuable work has been done, aimed at proving the case for re-opening and putting together a sound business case for the scheme. The Rail Link Campaign in short, has moved from the realms of 'wishful thinking' (although it was always more than that) and has become a real, tangible and viable proposal. Further details can be viewed on the dedicated website www.middlewichstation.org.uk/ . |
