The Great Eastern Express
9th May 2009

Diesel railtour hauled by Diesel Class 67, 67028 with 67029 Royal Diamond on the rear (used as the lead engine on the return) picking up at Chester - Altrincham and Chinley, then via the Hope Valley, Chesterfield, Nottingham and Grantham to Peterborough, Ely and Cambridge.

The service included an option of steam travel on the Nene Valley Railway, rejoining the Railtour thereafter.

Over 460 passengers travelled on The Great Eastern Express.
