This interchange station is designed to be eco-friendly with a sloping roof that collects and recycles rainwater, and a wall fitted with solar panels to contribute towards the buildings energy needs.

The environmentally friendly station has won a number of awards for its design and building techniques.

As well as serving the Crewe to Liverpool Lime Street and the Merseyrail Hunts Cross to Southport via Liverpool Central lines, you can also change at Liverpool South Parkway for direct services to Manchester, York, Norwich, Scarborough and Blackpool.

The station also serves Liverpool John Lennon Airport. There is a frequent Arriva 500 bus service between the station and the airport - which runs four times per hour Monday to Saturday with three services an hour from mid morning on Sunday. The journey takes ten minutes.
