I didn’t hear any screams! ….

Things were going bump and clank on the Mid Cheshire Line last night, when the very first ghost train left Stockport at 17.58. Over 50 people joined the train – parents & children were entertained by local ghost stories, scary face painting & sweets & chocolate. At Chester the families split in to 2 groups to tour the creepy, spooky parts of Chester for more ghostly tales before returning down the line on the 21.03.

On the return trip, tired passengers were entertained by local poet Charlotte Peters & enjoyed more sweets!

A ghost walk around Chester is definitely recommended – they run every Friday & Saturday – the guides were excellent & certainly knew their ghostly history & heritage. Last night several people reported catching a glimpse of a monk on the Walls …… very spooky!

Thankfully apart from a terrifying apparition at Cuddington (thanks to our local Ghost! – Ed), all our stations were peaceful and quiet. What next on the Mid Cheshire Line …?

I would just like to thank all of you and Northern Rail for the Excellent Night out on the Ghost Train and to Mr Tom Jones our Ghost Guide around Chester.

I brought my 2 boys from Stalybridge for the night out and we all loved it.

Thank you to all, and we can’t wait for the next one.
