Extra trains on the Crewe-Liverpool line ….

Posted on December 6th, 2010, by The Chairman

London Midland are introducing extra trains on Mondays to Fridays, and on Saturdays between Crewe and Liverpool from the timetable change on 12 December.

This is covered in LM’s latest issue of On Track, along with other LM news.

  1. Old Codger Says:

I think the Chairman has been led astray by London Midland publicity.

These extra trains are no good to us Mid-Cestrians. They leave Crewe at 0540 Monday to Friday, and 0548 and 0612 Saturday, and are non-stop to Runcorn.

What we want is later trains from Crewe, calling at Winsford, Hartford and Acton Bridge, especially on Saturdays.

Like I said – caveat vector.

  2. Peter Says:

LM are proposing major changes to the May 2012 timetable, which is where Hartford in particular would see improvements.

    Their plan is:

Liverpool-Birmingham (1 tph) running non-stop Runcorn to Crewe
Preston-Birmingham (1 tph) with calls at Warrington Bank Quay, Hartford and Crewe
Liverpool-London via Stone and the Trent Valley (1 tph) will calls at South Parkway, Runcorn, Hartford, Winsford and Crewe with limited Acton Bridge calls.
