Railtour Winners visit Piccadilly Signalling Centre ….

Posted on August 12th, 2012, by The Chairman

On our special trains we run a raffle with many prizes, as well as a special draw for a visit to the Manchester Piccadilly Signalling Centre. We donate 50% of the proceeds of the special draw to the railway charity, The Railway Children. £125 this year. Excellent!

Here’s lucky winners, Barbara Dean and Eric Wright visiting the Signalling Centre on 10 August 2012, together with Shift Manager, Allan Lewis.

Many thanks to Allan Lewis for arranging this, and to Network Rail.

The Railway Children charity is based near Crewe, not some posh offices in London. Founded as recently as 1993 and supported by many in the railway industry, it carries out very worthwhile work. For more details see their website.

  1. Carl Wainwright Says:

Where exactly is Manchester Piccadilly signalling centre? Other than being somewhere in the vicinity of Piccadilly Station.

  2. Andrew Macfarlane Says:

It’s in Tower Block, the office block immediately adjacent to Piccadilly station.
