Posted on August 14th, 2015, by The Chairman

Paul Wilkinson, our Secretary writes :

From Friday 28 August Metrolink will revise its services through St Peter’s Square. The St Peter’s Square stop will still be closed but trams will now run through the city on a single line.

In short, the existing double trams (every 12 mins all day) will be extended from Deansgate-Castlefield to Piccadilly Station and onto Etihad Campus (M-S).
On Sundays and Public Holidays, the service will operate to Piccadilly Station every 12min 0930-1700, 15min frequency during the rest of Su and PH. The existing single tram service will be extended from Cornbrook to Deansgate-Castlefield (operating every 12 mins M-F 0715-1930; S 0930-1830).

The Bury line will be linked to the East Didsbury line, and Ashton services linked to Rochdale.

The Metroshuttle Free Buses will continue on their current routes but the extra evening service on Metroshuttle 3 is withdrawn. The X1 Shuttle from Cornbrook to Piccadilly station will be withdrawn.

It is possible that early morning and late evening trams will run at different times than at present but there is no information published as yet.
