  1. Paul Wilkinson Says:

Deansgate Lane Level crossing closed to vehicles and pedestrians all day Sunday to 0530 Monday morning
Thought to be uncompleted track work on the curve from the crossing towards Skelton Junc postponed from earlier in the year

  2. Simon Barber Says:

This seems to be an example of excessive use of bus replacements. I see that Transport Focus have published the results of their study into this which has concluded that train companies must use bus replacement only as a last resort because it inconveniences passengers so much. If engineering work is taking place between Altrincham and Northwich, then buses should run as far as Northwich, not all the way to Chester. The signalling at Northwich allows trains arriving from Chester to reverse at Northwich and return to Chester. It is unreasonable to make passengers between Northwich and Chester use a bus – it is nearly 18 miles by train and more by road visiting all stations! We should raise this with Northern before it happens again.
