Yesterday the “Parliamentary” Summer Saturday’s only train from Chester to Runcorn via the Halton Curve was extended courtesy of Northern Rail and with special support from Merseytravel to call at Helsby and Frodsham and then continuing from Runcorn to Liverpool South Parkway.

Here’s one not to be missed!
The Summer Saturday’s only “parliamentary train” from Chester to Runcorn is being extended for one day only on 26 June to Liverpool South Parkway (LSP) as part of the 20th Anniversary Celebrations of our friends in NCRUG (North Cheshire Rail Users Group).

Great Western Express railtour – a great day out! ….

Our railtour yesterday to Oxford, Bath & Bristol, with an optional add on to the East Somerset Railway ran very well (apart from dull, cold weather!)
We left Piccadilly just before 6.30am behind Wrexham & Shropshire-liveried 67010 – it having substitued at the last minute for 67025 which had failed – with 67021 on the rear. [...]

Our Online Booking Office is open for the Great Western Express Railtour, or you can book by post.
The Railtour runs on Saturday 8 May 2010 going to Oxford, Bath and Bristol.
